Week 41 of Pregnancy: Baby is now approximately Jack fruit in size, over 50 cm long and weighs 3.6 kg. It’s warm and comfortable to stay in the womb, but the baby can’t stay in the mother’s body forever. Most physicians don’t allow your baby to be born more than 2 weeks beyond the expected date, as this increases the risk of complications for you and your baby.

Babies born 42 weeks or more may have dry, scaly and wrinkled skin, long nails, thick hair, and less sebum. Baby may also be malnourished and thin subcutaneous fat.

Changes in your body and life – Week 41 of Pregnancy

When the due date has passed and you’re still pregnant with a big belly (especially when family and friends keep calling to greet you with your condition), it’s hard not to hurry. But don’t worry, you won’t get pregnant forever, it’s likely that you will automatically enter delivery this week, and if you still don’t have any movement, or if you have any problems with your baby’s health, you will be induced in 42 weeks or earlier.

What should I be aware of? Week 41 of Pregnancy

About 5% to 6% of women’s pregnancy cycle will exceed the expected date of delivery for 3 weeks or more. Babies born in 42 weeks and later may have rough parchment skin, and are usually overweight. Long stay in the uterus increases the chance of infection in the uterus, which can harm the baby or cause stillbirth.

Periodic maternity inspection

If your baby is not born in week 42 or earlier, your doctor will talk to you about the possibility of inducing an abortion. Most physicians don’t let you wait more than 2 weeks after the expected date of delivery because it puts you and your baby at greater risk of complications.

What checks should I do?

What methods the doctor uses to induce an abortion depends on the condition of the cervix. If your cervix has not begun to soften, thinner, or open, your body or baby is not ready for delivery. In this case, the doctor uses catalytic agents (hormones) or mechanical methods of amniotic hooks to facilitate the maturation of your cervix prior to instillation.

Depending on your situation, the procedure may include stripping or breaking your amniotic membrane, or using drugs such as oxytocin to make the uterus begin to contract. If none of these and other methods work, you can end up with a caesarean section.

Health information during pregnancy

Safe washing of baby clothes

Before delivery, it is best to wash items that come into contact with your baby’s skin, such as baby’s clothes, blankets, etc. You may not think it is necessary, but experts recommend that these items should be cleaned before your baby is worn. Because the texture of the new clothes or blanket is still hard, if you can’t help hug because your baby is so cute, it can irritate your baby’s delicate skin.

After the expected date, you’ll have nothing to do but try other methods, such as herbs, stimulating nipples and edible castor oil, but these can cause contractions, increase your baby’s risk, and give you extreme pain. Most physicians will incarcate between 41 and 42 weeks, leaving the pregnancy to end early.
